I believe that living the life you want is ultimately about state of mind. It is a belief system. Opening your heart and mind opens up a whole new world, and accepting imperfection is a major aspect of this.
On the surface, we would all mostly agree. We would agree that life is messy and to ever get to a place where everything is perfect and we have no problems is ridiculous. Mentally I think we all know that, yet emotionally we are still holding others (and ourselves!) to impossible standards and believing we can't be happy because of something not being perfectly_____ (you name it.).
This is an awareness thing. It's about looking at our beliefs about perfection and the emotions that we see coming up around that. There is a whole new world out there when you relax your need for perfection and choose your state of mind based on how you WANT to feel! Plus, once you are aware of this new world, you get to make new choices about your state of mind constantly! You realize that accepting whatever is going on in the moment and taking responsibility for your own happiness is all you can really do, anyway. And there is freedom in that. That freedom is available. NOW. That freedom leads to a place where you give yourself permission to be happy. Imperfect yourself, and surrounded by imperfection, yet happy.
Accepting the imperfection of "what-is" is living with an Open Heart. This is living the Open Life.
