If you look... at your life, (ALL of the aspects of your life) would you say you are absolutely living the life of your dreams in every aspect? YES? Well wow! First off, Congratulations! And second, will you please tell us your secret?
If you're not, is there a goal you have yet to achieve, or a quality of life you are striving toward? Are you satisfied, or unsatisfied, with your life at this point?
For me, I would say I am very happy in my life, but still, not satisfied. There is a great quote from Bob Proctor that says, "Be happy with your life, but never satisfied." I have things I want to accomplish, dreams I want to realize, and improvements I know I can make to bring more joy and freedom into my life! I am just naturally interested in self-improvement. It's something I'm drawn to, and I've studied it from many angles and tried many methods through the years. And I am here to tell you - - - I am CONVINCED of the power of the "mastermind" concept.
So, Sara, what is a Mastermind?
So, I'm feeling led. I'm feeling led to start one (or more) of these groups, depending on interest levels. If this concept intrigues you, the next step is to come see me at the informational meeting on Monday, July 6th in Smithton. After that, I will be interviewing each person to get to know you better, where you stand currently with your goals, and where you want to go. From there, I will assign groups based on finding like-minded, complimentary group members, and we will get started in August.
This is different than Group Therapy; this is different than Coaching. This is a Facilitated Mastermind. Think of it as an "Accountability Club!" Or a "Support Group... with No B-S Excuses Allowed!"... ha ha ha!!! I will write more in the coming days to explain further, but until then, if you have interest, go to the Eventbrite.com event page here and RSVP that you are coming to the introduction event.
Hope to see you there!
With an Open Heart,
I'm back, from a little hiatus of posting articles on here. I'm going to jump right back in with the word "Respond". It might be one of my favorite pages in the book. If you aren't familiar with my new ABC book, check it out here.
When a situation arises that could be troubling, I believe the key is to stay aware of your ability to respond, rather than react. Responding to a situation is different than Reacting. When we react, we let the emotion of the situation take over, we may jump to conclusion or get angry or sad, before we have all the information. Or, we might just end the situation by walking away or doing something else that could be seen as drastic or over-reacting by some. I believe the key to more healthy relationships and life in general, is to build that ability to respond, and to set an intention to respond with kindness and peace. No matter what is going on in your world, you still have that choice.
Are there times this is easier than others? Of course!
For me, when my kids have been just a little extra crazy all day, it is really hard to still offer them openness and understanding, because the little things start to annoy me and I want to React!!!
It is a true mark of growth in a person when they can keep their cool in any situation. That is really what this is about. It doesn't mean being a doormat. It doesn't mean having no boundaries. But the act of asking a question or pausing and breathing before you respond will help smooth over most misunderstandings. You only control the things that you do. My goal is to be in control of myself no matter what! That is why my ongoing goal is to Respond in ever situation with kindness and peace. Will you join me?
